Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The process of upgrading an item, often called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stats linearly.

Players can recycle six items at once to gain a gauge for the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling items scales according to their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the effectiveness of your weapon and armor. This can be done through various methods, including the use of upgrade components and also increasing an item's mark level or rarity. Additionally to this, many items can be reforged, which can increase their stats.

Upgradeable items can be found all over the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. The primary method to upgrade equipment is through the use of upgrade components, which are items that can be inserted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and the majority require a certain level of upgrade items. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others offer an overall bonus.

There are many types of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments, can be put on any kind of equipment, and offer less than upgrades for specific equipment. Glyphs can only be found in gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing additional crafting materials.

To upgrade an item, select it from your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right side of the screen. It will display the expected stats after the upgrade. If you do not have enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will show as Blocked.

The upper-right side of the screen shows the amount of upgrade components required for the specific item. The cost of an upgrade increases with the upgrade level and rarity, however it can be reduced through many different methods, including purchasing upgrades from a retailer or trading them to other players.

Most weapons can be upgraded with the use of a prefix upgrade, such as an insignia, or a rune, and a lot of them can be upgraded with suffix upgrades. These upgrades change the name of the item, adding an adjective, for example 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor.' The exceptions are the non-inscribable wands, the foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any kinds of mods.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be a powerful tool for communicating visual information. They animate to capture the viewer's attention and spur curiosity in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics body language, which makes them more effective at conveying a message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs can also trigger a feeling of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph has a set of values that it could improve a stat by, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This is the maximum value that the glyph can improve a stat by, not the amount that it will actually increase it by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the item you're creating it for.

The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items cannot be replaced or salvaged without removing the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you do not want to use, but it hasn't been incorporated to gear yet, you can move the item upgrader to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.

You can take out the glyph using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item where the glyph is installed will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be retrieved by removing the glyph fragments.

When you remove an Best item upgrader after adding a glyph the shards of that glyph will disappear. You can also add an inscription on your equipment to provide an extra benefit. For example, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly instead of all at once. This is helpful for players who take many hits from their enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes that are placed on equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from many sources, including mystery boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player an unspecified affix, which is generally better than the one they had prior to. Reroll tokens can be used to boost weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.

Rerolled items are not listed in the menu of item upgrades, but they are still able to be upgraded. If you click the "upgrade button", you can recycle the rerolled items. This will alter the design of the item's window and let up to six items be selected for recycling. The gauge of level is increased by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item and also its level. Therefore, items that are higher level are more valuable to recycle than lower-leveled ones.

In addition to reroll tokens, players can use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the weapon traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls roll the percentage chance of a weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.

Rerolling is a great option to upgrade an item. However, players should be aware that the total ilvl is decreased by the number of the rerolls required to bring it to the final ilvl. This lowering effect is most effective on Diadems and rings that don't have other options for raising ilvls.

Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's better to allow people to pay for it with money or food items, which will allow players to make changes to their builds without having to spend excessive amounts of time. However paying for rerolls is not something the developers want to implement at this time in the game's development. They plan to add an ingredient that allows players to alter their race in the future.

Leveling

There are a number of ways to increase the level of an item upgrade. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade that increases the value of upgrading any stat. The second is to increase the upgrade effect, which increases the healing or damage of a particular stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type. Once this is done the new item will keep its iLevel, but will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded type of item.

It is important to remember that upgrades are random. In the majority of cases, a better roll is determined by glyphs. However, there are times where a higher or more special roll can occur. The type of item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or unique item to a unique item type, it is likely to receiving an upper level.

Upgrades can be expensive particularly if you are upgrading gear from the standard track to legendary. The cost of upgrading an item will depend on its base iLevel and the number of levels to upgrade. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to reach the next upgrade level.

If you're fortunate the upgraded item could attain the highest level on its upgrade track and gain an additional benefit. This will increase the item's upgrade value. The bonus effect can change with each upgrade level however. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased by +3.

The iLevel can also change in accordance with the item's upgrade path and its base level. For instance, a weapon that is upgraded from a rare or unique item to an exceptional item is likely to get the enhanced defense of the new base item type.
